IMPORTANT NOTICE
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE ORDER – TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847

IN ACCORDANCE with Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, which section gives Wiltshire Council (“The Council”) the power to make an order for roads within its administrative area to be closed temporarily to all vehicular traffic (and for alternative routes to be observed) for the purposes of preventing obstruction.

Saturday 15th September 2018
between the hours of 18.00 and 23.00
Pewsey Feast and Carnival Four Legged Event
That the following roads and streets in the town of Pewsey
are to be closed (save in any case of emergency) to all
vehicular traffic as set out below:
• A345 North Street (part); from its junction with
Broomcroft Road to its junction with A345 Market Place.
• A345 Market Place; from its junction with North Street
to its junction with A345 River Street.
• A345 River Street; from its junction with Market Place
to its junction with A345 Church Street.
• A345 Church Street; from its junction with River Street
to its junction with A345 Swan Road/The Crescent.
• B3087 Market Place; from its junction with A345 Market
Place to its junction with B3087 High Street.
• B3087 High Street; from its junction with B3087 Market
Place to its junction with B3087 Milton Road/Ball Road.

Sunday 16th September 2018
between the hours of 12.30 and 14.30
Family Fun Day (Pewsey Carnival)
Those parts of the road known as Ball Road (part), Pewsey;
from its junction with Easterton Lane to its junction with
Kings Corner, to be closed (save in all cases for emergency)
to all vehicular traffic.

between the hours of 18.00 and 23.00
Pewsey Feast and Carnival Wheelbarrow Event
That the following roads and streets in the town of Pewsey
are to be closed (save in any case of emergency) to all
vehicular traffic at the approximate times set out below:
• A345 (part) Church Street/River Street/Market Place/
North Street; from its junction with A345 Swan Road/UC
The Crescent to its junction with C8 Wilcot Road.
• C8 Wilcot Road (part); from its junction with A345
North Street to its junction with Rawlins Road.
• Rawlins Road (part); from its junction with Wilcot Road
to its junction with Slater Road.
• Slater Road; from its junction with Rawlins Road to its
junction with The Crescent.
• The Crescent (part); from its junction with Slater Road
to its junction with Church Road.

Saturday 22nd September 2018
between the hours of 18.00 to 23.00
Pewsey Feast and Carnival Procession
That the following roads and streets in the town of Pewsey
are to be closed (save in any case of emergency) to all
vehicular traffic as set out below:
• A345 Marlborough Road (part); from its junction with
Old Hospital Road to its junction with North Street.
• A345 (part), North Street; from its junction with
Marlborough Road to its junction with Market Place.
• A345 (part), Market Place; from its junction with North
Street to its junction with High Street and River Street.
• A345 (part), River Street; from its junction with Market
Place to its junction with Church Street.
• A345 (part), Church Street; from its junction with River
Street to its junction with The Crescent.
• The Crescent, (part); from its junction with Church
Street to its junction with Slater Road.
• Slater Road; from its junction with The Crescent to its
junction with Rawlins Road.
• Rawlins Road, (part); from its junction with Slater Road
to its junction with Wilcot Road.
• Wilcot Road (part); from its junction with Rawlins Road
to its junction with North Street.
• B3087 (part), Market Place; from its junction with A345
Market Place to its junction with High Street.
• B3087 (part), High Street; from its junction with Market
Place to its junction with Milton Road.
• B3087 Milton Road (part); from its junction with High
Street to a point outside Little Ann.
• A345 Swan Road (part); from its junction with The
Crescent to its junction with Salisbury Road.

Nothing in this order shall prevent vehicles from proceeding in the said length of road when being used in connection with the events stated above.
AND it is also hereby ordered that appropriately sign posted diversionary routes will be in place throughout the period of closure.
