2010 Entry Forms


MAIN ILLUMINATED PROCESSION

Roads are closed at 6pm. Procession starts at 7.30pm from the Carnival Field.

Please can entry forms be handed in/posted to us by the 4th September 2010

You can print off an entry form HERE (pdf) – feel free to print as many as you like for family, friends, etc., it all helps us! The forms can also be found in COSSORS SHOP, CHINA ROSE, WESSEX PRINT CENTRE, THE COOPERS ARMS and MARTINS NEWSAGENTS.

All persons taking part in the procession are reminded that they do so entirely at their own risk.


Classes for 2010


  • Class 1* – Walkers with Floats (incl generators)
  • Class 2 – Walkers with/without Floats (no generators)
  • Class 3* – Floats moved by Roadworthy Vehicle, Articulated (over 9m)
  • Class 4* – Floats moved by any other Roadworthy Vehicle

Main Procession - entrants in Motorised Procession (classes marked *) will need to produce confirmation of Public Liability Insurance and their Float Risk Assessment/Checklist (.pdf) for sign-off on the day. Suggested wording for inclusion in letters to insurance companies can be found here:

Documents to download

  • Letter IC3-4 (.doc) - letter from vehicle owner to their insurers for Float Entrant using roadworthy motor vehicles (Classes 3 & 4)
  • Letter IC1 (.doc) – letter from Float Entrant to their household insurer for hand-propelled Float using generator or other fossil-fuelled engine (Class 1)
  • Float Check list (pdf) – A tick list to use when entering a float.

Entrants in walking classes are encouraged to perform on “Moving Vehicles” (e.g. bicycles, wheelbarrows, soap carts, etc) or as Musicians (acoustic) and/or Dancers (e.g. Morris, clog or similar).


Wine Race

Wine Race – to accommodate the requirement to sign an insurance waiver as noted below registration will be open from 6.00pm in the Bouverie Hall for a 7.30pm start. No pre entry needed as you will register on the night. Please turn up as early as you can.

Please note that all three team members will also need to be witnessed signing a special insurance waiver on the night. Please bring photo ID


Wheelbeero Race

Wheelbeero Race – unlike previous years this event is enter on the day only with registration open from 5.00pm in the Bouverie Hall for a 7.30pm start .. ALL team members are required at registration. Please turn up as early as you can

*** Use of Generators ***

If your wheelbarrow uses a fossil-fuelled generator it will not be covered by the Wheelbeero race insurance. You will therefore need to arrange your own cover in the sum of £5m third party public liability for the night. This might be possible on your existing home insurance policy, or you might approach specialist insurers Hiscox Insurance or Event Insurance. You will also need to carry an appropriate fire extinguisher.
