Children’s Carnival

The children’s carnival was a wonderful success, many people worked very hard on their costumes over half were home made, the youngest entrant was 3 months old, dressed as a dalmation dog and the oldest being 11, well done to all that took part, the biggest group entry was made up of many different Disney characters, from Minnie mouse,Donald duck, to a mrs potato head who had lost an ear! Woody from toy story and boo and sully from monsters Inc tinker bell and jack sparrow where there too, they managed to bag the top prize for the group section too.

Nemo was found in a wheelbarrow belonging to the rowberry family and Adam and Freddie we sea creatures, also nannie mcfee and the baby had a brilliant wheelbarrow which was in the style of an old fashioned pram, we also had dalmations and bumble bees, pirates Harry Potters, and clowns.
The children enjoyed a wonderful tea put together by Lee and jan grafton and Nikki and Steve Kimber, many thanks to all that helped on the day with face painting and Steve Goddard for the brilliant disco.
See you all next week at the coopers for the 3 legged race 5- 15 years, with special guest pepa pig, bouncy castles smash a plate,BBQ and fun and games. A great afternoon for everyone even if your not entering, if anyone want to help with the afternoon nd dress up as a pirate or clown please come along at 1 pm on Sunday to the coopers

Children’s 3 Legged

The day was brilliant and we have had so much positive feed back from it all, people came up to us yesterday and praised it and we have had txt and messages on fb too!

We had 67 entrants of two children in each team, 5-8, 9-11, 11- 15 the 11 -15 had 7 entrants one team which was my son didn’t make it round as they fell after an bout 200 yards and his mate had to be carried off by cathy lang  husband to first aid, cuts and bruises to leg and egos!!!

The fancy dress as with children’s party was very good a team which was made up of a washing machine and tumble dryer and a string of washing between, and they went through the river, the children left the coopers, went to the circus tent near play park/ rec where they had to pass a hoop between them if they did this they got a lolly, and then at the Indian camp in the grove they threw a spear at a target, they were given a gold coin to give to the pirates, the pirates in the river gave them a black spot, they then went to football club and kicked a football in a net, still tied together, and got their medal for taking part, they then ran to coopers where they had a burger, a drink a ride on the fair, a bouncy castle go a smash a plate and coconut go all for their entrance fee of £2!!!

We had over 200 people there and despite the weather, it was a brilliant afternoon, I would like to thank all the marshals and helpers who turned up to join in the fun.

Peppa pig was a great success with the little ones.

We gave out trophies to the race winners and the fancy dress winners and for the two that fell at the first hurdle and to Alfie Lang who didn’t have a partner but who ran around the course twice.

Children’s Carnival was great, a big step-up from previous years. Thanks to everyone involved. A few pics from the children’s fancy dress parade (some taken by my son, Ben):
