We will have Beer this year!

A few changes to the Wheelbeero Race rules have been made this year to enable us to be granted our alcohol licence. Nothing major, just a few tweeks here and there.

We have to implement an ID check during registration. So if you have wonderful youthful under 21 looks you will be asked to show some ‘photo’ ID. There will be some lovely people on the door checking. Please don’t be offended if asked.

At each race drinking stop you will see Beer and also a non alcoholic alternative. So it’s up to you to decide which you would like. As usual only one member of your team is required to drink at each stop.

Once we have chiseled the rules onto a stone slab they will be uploaded here.

*** Use of Generators ***

If your wheelbarrow uses a fuel driven generator it will not be covered by the Wheelbeero race insurance. You will therefore need to arrange your own cover in the sum of £5m third party public liability for the night. This might be possible on your existing home insurance policy, or you might approach specialist insurers Hiscox Insurance or Event Insurance. You will also need to carry an appropriate fire extinguisher.

  1. this is amazing. would love to get involved next year – I was completely unaware of such an event. I’m a seasoned wheelbarrow modifier – creator of the wheelbarrow sound system (htto://www.wheelbarrowsoundsystem.co.uk)! Great work. I’ll be there in 2010!
