What on earth is this Cossor malarkey i keep hearing of?
Cossor’s sale is a jumble sale and auction held on the Wednesday before the main procession started by the late Clifford Goldsworthy (nickname Cossor). The jumble is from noon and the auction is from 6pm. Cossor’s gang will be traveling round the village on the Monday and Tuesday with tractors and trailers (also ringing ZEE BELLS) collecting any unwanted items to sell at auction on the Wednesday. All proceeds go towards making money to donate to local charities. So we ask if you have any items you no longer need that you think others may benefit from please put them out for collection.
Please no items that are broken or damaged beyond repair as these have to then be disposed of at a cost to us. The items are to be left outside on the routes seen below with a clear label stating they are for Cossor’s sale.
If you miss the sale this year please remember we have a shop in Pewsey high street opposite the police station near the King Alfred statue which acts as a sale all year round making money to support the Carnival.
