Pewsey Carnival Bake Off

Location: Coopers Arms Pewsey

Time: 12pm – 4pm (Entries from 12-1:15pm) Judging from 2pm

Price: £1 per entry

Advanced entry forms can be obtained here or on the day by bringing your cake to the event from noon.

The competition is open to individual and WI entrants. Class 1 is only open to children aged 10 years and under on the day of the event. Class 2 is for children 11 to 16 years. Classes 3 and 4 are open to all.

Please note: No packet-mix cakes will be accepted. Children’s entries must be baked by the child (i.e. child may be supervised by parent/carer but must bake the cake/biscuits themselves).

All cakes or biscuits can be presented on either a china plate or paper plate. Covering in clingfilm is recommended where practical (being careful of any decoration).

Entries must arrive at the judging tent in the field behind the Coopers Arms between 12 noon and 1.15pm on Sunday 11th September 2016. Any entries arriving after 1.15pm will unfortunately not be accepted.

NOTE:  For Class 4 (Victoria Sponge) the recipe below must be followed exactly.   Any deviations such as different jam, added ingredients or obvious changes to amounts will disqualify the entry.

Judging will be complete by 3.45pm. The Carnival Queen will present certificates and prizes to the winner, second and third places in all classes with a special additional prize for the highest placed WI member in class 4.

Entrance to the competition means that you allow us to take pictures of your entries and that we can use them for advertising and press purposes.
