PADFAC, the Children’s Carnival committee and stalwart carnival clubs Hasbeens and Zixex have been involved with other local organisations in laying down plans for a day-long family centred party to mark the Royal Wedding on Fri 29th April.

The event is to take place in Coopers Field, Ball Road starting at 9.30am and running late into the evening. Activities so far notified include “Its-a-knock-out”, large screen TV coverage of the wedding itself, all-day barbecue. The field will also be a perfect vantage point for the beacon that Zixex will be building on Pewsey Hill.

Tickets are available now from China Rose in the High Street or from the Coopers Arms. The price of £2 includes a commemorative mug.

Carnival stalwarts PVADS have their Spring Show ‘Allo ‘Allo ready to roll with performances at the Bouverie Hall on Fri 30th Aril, Sat 1st May, Fri 7th and Sat 8th May, 7.00 for 7.30pm … and you can buy your tickets online here!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

PACT Xmas Fayre & Questionnaire

PADFAC were well represented at PACT’s Christmas Fayre on Sat 29 Nov with helpers keen to meet carnival supporters old and new, to canvass ideas and to encourage more involvement … particularly on new events for younger people and support for would-be float builders.

Things went very well. Firstly, as we’d hoped, a few people said that they wanted to do a float but didn’t know how to start, e.g. getting a trailer! … and there was also a very helpful offer of assistance with funding workshops and associated activities … watch this space.

The stall actually ran out of questionnaires on the day and had to announce that it would also be available online - so here it is: Questionnaire (pdf) – please return to the PADFAC Secretary, c/o China Rose, 7a High Street, Pewsey, SN9 5AF

A huge crowd gathered at one point to watch Mick Lynch’s DVD of 2008 events and some copies were sold to boost PADFAC funds! There was also considerable interest in online Shopping through this website, and lots of people especially wanted to know how to access and buy photos.

PACT Christmas Fayre

The Pewsey Area Community Trust (PACT) are staging their Christmas Fayre through the afternoon of Saturday 29th November in North Street.

PADFAC will be represented with its own stall with helpers keen to meet  carnival supporters old and new, to canvass ideas and to encourage more involvement … particularly on new events for younger people and support for would-be float builders.

A Questionnaire has been prepared [also to be available online as additional Feedback for a limited time after the event- Ed] and a pamphlet promoting our Shopping site will also be handed out … speaking of which …
